Loving the Pool

Summer is here, no doubt about that. And for us that means time in the pool. Day or night, there is never a bad time to jump in and cool off.

On weekends I am in and out a few times during breaks in housework - just a dip to break the sweat and then I'm refreshed to keep on working. It doesn't matter that I drip water as I trek through the house - washing the floors is the last thing I do before I call it 'done'. So much more comfortable cleaning the house all wet from a refreshing dip.

Some evenings we head up with our coffee and enjoy drinking it while sitting in the pool. Most evenings we take a dip before getting into bed - so much easier to sleep with the body cooled off. We do not sleep with the a/c, just the ceiling fan and the open window/door which sends a wonderful breeze through the room.

Our third floor has an even better breeze, and one day I might put a bed up there under the stars, covered with netting to keep out the mosquitoes that are not up there right now but will surely track me down (I'm a mosquito magnet). We don't use our third floor nearly enough, but last night we took our coffee up there and just sat and enjoyed the breeze and the view of the bay overlooking Cancun.

The days are so hot, but it's worth it just to feel summer again. Summer - my favorite time of the year.

Your pool looks inviting and the view of Cancun is great. I enjoy summer too, but here in Michigan we only have a couple of months. Today is 90 degrees! And I'm loving it! Looking forward to Cancun in October.

I still marvel at the views you have. Must be nice to see both sides of the island.

Beautiful view! I agree that dips in the pool are what keep me cool and together all day and they are fantastic right before bed.

I dive in as soon as I get up, even before coffee. It's my morning face wash :)

I really need to get down and see what you have done to the place. It looks beautiful.

When we were out on the boat with Tony in November we could see your house from the water. It must be an awesome view.

You have done a fantastic job!

K - I know, being from Canada, those summers are just too darn short. The gardens are just at their best when the frost gets them. I love perpetual summer here, although of course it is hotter or colder depending on the time of year.

Wayne - I love the views too, and need to remember to take the time to enjoy them. I think I'm just lacking the right hammock or something.

Jonna - I can't wait to retire so I can wash my face in the pool in the morning! (not even close to being able to do so, but I'm waiting...). Can't imagine living here without the pool, it's great.

Cheri - hopefully one of your trips here you'll have a chance to stop by. I know how hard it is to get motivated to get out of town though, but one day...

maybe the mosquitos won't get you up on the 3rd floor...I noticed when we were working on our roof once we got up above 20 feet or so they didn't come up after us and we didn't need to wear repellent...but then....netting is SOOOO romantic...

Sue,
You and Miguel have done so much to your house. I remember when I was there and you had just started the third floor construction. I would love to see if first hand. Maybe next trip we can hook up. I have referred people to look at you B&B site based on what I do know about you house. It looks just wonderful.

I love that top deck. When I was there I'd be up there sunning and looking at the beautiful view all the time. That would be cool to have a bed up there with netting. I used the hammock when I was there to just chill.

Leslie - I don't know, those mosquitoes have found me up there before. I think there are fewer but there are some. And netting is so romantic isn't it, especially with stars overhead.

Jackie - please stop by any time so we can show you the suite, it always helps to describe it if you have seen it in person. Thanks for the references!

Bennie - I'm glad you were able to enjoy being up there. My brother was addicted to being up there, he was up there every chance he got.
