I'm not sure this kitty is doing so well. It didn't eat much yesterday, and this morning it ate a tiny bit and then quit. A couple of hours later it was crying, so I fed it by hand, and it took the food from my fingers quite happily. But it has had diarrhea a couple of times since, and really does not want much other than to be held. If I don't see a big difference by morning I'll be calling Delfino. So Scott, we'll hold onto the idea of Milagra (it is a girl - I didn't know this but almost 100% of Calico and Tortoise-shell cats are female - something genetic). The kitten actually looks like a chocolate/caramel swirl, but Miguel can't say "Swirl", he says "Squirrel", so that name is out. He is leaning toward Pitaya, but I'm not sold on that one either. She is anything but PINK!
Delfino asked what the name is and when I said that someone had suggested "Milagra", he said "if the kitty is ok tomorrow, then Milagra is a good name". Hmmm...does that mean he is not sure this kitty is going to recover?
Jen - Esperanza is also a good name, we'll have to decide once she is back here and we learn more about her character.
Aw geez now I am all worked up about this poor kitty and I hope she is gonna get past this...
I take Junior Cat's good geriatric health for granted...Junior has been pampered and spolied for 13.5 years, she is an Iams cat and after her personal miracle of rescue when she was a tiny abandonded infant she has had a long and happy life...I figure Junior does not know how lucky she has been but then she looks up at me and and seems to smile at me with her eyes and maybe she knows how lucky we both are after all...
It's funny how the kitten refuses food but seeks warmth and contact and love...
I hug Junior Cat a lot anyway but she gets an extra hug tonight for the kitten with hope for a miracle esperanzas y milagras...my heart is with hope that Dr Delfino can make miracles
We cannot save all the lost animals but we can help to try and we can love and care for our own animals and try to do right by them to honor those we cannot reach.

That kitten is adorable!
Oh yeah Sue that kitten really gets to me (and in a good way of course)
I have a "suggestion" for a name for the kitten...how about "Milagro" if he is a boy and "Milagra" if she is a girl?
Love is a miracle...
Sue, I like the Milagro idea! Adorable pictures (including Miguel)!

Sue:
What great pictures. I love the one of the Pet Miguel. The kitten is too cute, I sure hope she makes it.
I'm back up in your home state of Ontario.
