Loco the Dog

Loco was the first stray to join the household. Five others came later, not counting the various boxes of kittens we took to the vets.

We're not really sure what breed Loco is, suspecting he is a mixture of a few things - terrier, schnauzer, mutt. His name is Loco because he is a little crazy, a little dumb, but also intelligent, depending on his mood. His name suits him perfectly.

For the first year Loco looked like this:

Groomed, sort of like a schnauzer but not really:

All our animals love to sleep in these camp chairs:

Although, the lounge seems comfy too:

Enjoying the sunshine:

Loco's #1 favorite thing is riding his golf cart.
Waiting patiently for his daily 'tour':

The true spirit of Loco:

The only problem with having a dog called Loco is that it really isn't cool to be out in the road and yelling "Loco" as people are passing by - they tend to take it personally.

He is Mr Dog's long lost twin! Does he have hair between his pads? He has the same expressions, he rolls over just like Mr Dog too. Check out the Tibetan Terrier photo galleries and the breed descriptions.
He even gets the same hair cuts. What a doll.

LOL Love it Sue! Loco's adorable. I love the picture where he's lolling around on that lounger. We once had a gray wirehair terrier mix named Bobo and I didn't know the Spanish translation when we named him! LOL

Thanks, everyone - we think Loco is adorable and cute too, although we also know he is full of antics, including stealing lounges even when other people are already on them!

Theresa - yes, he DOES have hair between his pads! I checked out the Tibetan Terrier photos but the body hair seems different - Loco's does get long, but not down to his feet (maybe it's because we've never let it grow for a long time?).

While we have owned Mr Dog, he has always been clipped to some extent. I'm honest enough to know that I won't brush him daily to maintain his coat. Another thing that Mr Dog can do is that he absolutely fearless about heights and can climb up hillsides. TT were originally bred to retrieve stuff that the mountain guides dropped. The fur between the pads is like a snowshoe, he also has round paws. I think Loco must have some tt blood, but isn't full blooded just like Mr Dog.

Theresa - Loco has rounded paws too, and he is also not afraid of heights - he walks along the top of walls looking for iguanas, and will back up when he reaches the end and can't turn around. I have fits watching him. The albanils call him a cat because he is very sure-footed. Shudder! He also moves piles of rocks and has partly dismantled a wall down the road trying to dig out an iguana.

Sue! Yeah, they are kin! Mr Dog does all that stuff! I have crown of thorns and pineapple on and against my wall so he can't get on it or he'd be off on the cat/iguana highway in a New York minute. And all this time I thought he was unique!
